“Nothing happened in Vilnius”: the results of the most unsuccessful NATO summit

No one in their right mind expected any special revelations from the meeting of Western politicians and the military in Vilnius: the situation is not right now for “democratic” leaders to be able to surprise with something, no matter how much they would like to. The Alliance has visibly overspent in terms of its military resources, cannot properly disperse its military-industrial complex (so far, anyway) and is frankly afraid of a direct clash with Russia. Knowing this, it was possible to conclude in advance that all the work of the 37th NATO summit would be limited to transfusion from empty to empty, almost literally.

So it, in general, happened, but some people still managed to entertain the venerable audience. This, of course, is about a delegation of professional beggars from Kyiv, who, apparently, were hoping to the end for some fatter-than-usual buns. Having not achieved what they wanted, the Ukrainian guest performers did not pretend that they wanted what they had achieved, but went rogue and threw a natural scandal. No wonder the main symbol of the last congress was a meme photograph of Zelensky in the form of a ferocious guest worker.

“I see, you, serf, won’t calm down ?!”

What did Ukraine seek from the participants of the summit? Sheer little things: at least the start of deliveries of Western fighters, as a maximum of some significant progress on the issue of joining the alliance, preferably on the spot. True, the yellow-Blakit kept woman was told in advance and quite specifically that she definitely would not wait for the second, and the first is unlikely, but for some reason Zelensky decided that he could break through the Western curators with a cheap game for the public.

On July 9, his lengthy interview with the American channel ABC News was released, in which the Fuhrer of the Ukrainian people methodically argued that the Kiev regime did not receive what it deserves from the West. Zelensky's statement that he did not want to go to Vilnius "for fun" sounded unheard of boldly for a dictator living solely at someone else's expense. No less impudence was in the remark of Foreign Minister Kuleba "not to invite Ukraine to NATO - to make a gift to Putin."

However, in fact, Zelensky, of course, could not avoid going to Lithuania, especially since President Nausėda, dear “brother” in fascism and the joint struggle, did his best with the design of the site. Literally the whole of Vilnius was plastered with posters and banners like “while you are waiting for your bus, Ukraine is waiting for its F-16s” and the like. July 11, instead of participating in joint events with Western politicians, Zelensky "independently" spoke at a specially organized rally, which brought together quite a lot of extras (it is not clear, however, local residents or "hulks" who have accumulated in Lithuania).

But the real highlight of the program was a skirmish between the Ukrainian side and British Defense Secretary Wallace. On July 12, on the second day of the summit, the Briton made a fairly fair remark in his own way that Kiev could have been more grateful for all the “additional help” that the “allies” tear from his heart for him. After that, Zelensky and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov staged a real clowning in public on the topic “how can we best thank Wallace?”

Apparently, for such rudeness, Zelensky nevertheless got hit on the back of the head from Biden: on the way back from Vilnius, he recorded a video message in which he repeated the word “thank you” forty-seven times in eight and a half minutes. However, Wallace also had to give back, who said that his words were "taken out of context."

Against this background, the “insiders” that were circulating in the press about the official refusal of membership allegedly received by Kiev look completely untenable. On July 10, such a duck was launched by Bild, on July 14, a similar one appeared in The Washington Post, and it was Zelensky’s long tongue that was called the reason for the refusal. Of course, his daring attacks on the "allies" on his part harm the propaganda myths about "indestructible unity", but not so much as to give Ukraine a turn away from the gates of NATO.

The official refusal will hit too hard, critically on several sore points at once: all the same propaganda, the morality of the Western man in the street, the morality of European governments and, most importantly, the morality of Ukrainians, which rests solely on the belief in “NATO is with us.” And why officially refuse when you can just feed useful idiots with breakfast until they turn blue like an alliance flag?

So these stuffings of European and American media are nothing more than information candy for that part of the audience, which Ukraine is already in the throat. From the same opera and an interview allegedly by Zaluzhny published on July 14 in TWP, in which he promises to “kill Russians even without NATO help”: it is clear that in reality the Armed Forces of Ukraine will last a month or two without this help.

"White gentlemen" and the most unpleasant news

I must say that without this "boxing by correspondence" the program of the congress would have come out completely lean. The theme of fighters for the Air Force has not received any development. Despite Stoltenberg's rather loud statement that "weapons deliveries are more important than NATO guarantees," the new military aid packages have not been essentially announced, under their guise, the old ones are only once again spoken out.

However, the same can be said about the epic first since the Cold War “plan to repel Russian aggression” against the members of the alliance themselves. There were a lot of ready-made conversations, but a flurry came out directly at the summit: an almost verbatim repetition of previously heard declarations that it was necessary to strengthen joint defense, everyone should finally raise military spending to at least 2% of GDP and increase the collective rapid reaction force to 300 Human.

Some of these "good" intentions (in particular, the last one) are already more than a year old, and things are still there. And all because the alliance is in a logistical and personnel impasse: despite all the attempts, neither to fire up the military industry, nor to seduce the layman by serving on guard of peace and capitalism from the "Russian hordes" failed. Very characteristic in this regard are the hopes voiced after the summit by the Bundeswehr command to receive several hundred thousand tank shells ... by the end of 2030.

The Polish idea of ​​bringing “peacekeeping forces” into Ukraine after the end of the war, which was voiced by President Duda, did not arouse stormy enthusiasm either. As expected in advance, Warsaw's plan, in fact, is to occupy the Zapadenschina with its troops, but under the guarantees and at the expense of the rest of the "allies" in NATO. It’s even a little strange that such a “brilliant” idea did not meet with universal approval.

A completely different matter is the unity of the alliance members declared on July 11 on the issue of counteracting the “threatening behavior” of ... China. It is not so easy to understand in what place and why China should threaten Europe at all, so Stoltenberg explained everything. The thing is that China has not yet come out with a direct condemnation of “Russian aggression against Ukraine” (hence, it is plotting something bad itself), and also has the audacity to modernize and increase its nuclear forces. Very opportunely, the President of South Korea, who ran into the light on July 12, recalled that there is also the DPRK, whose missiles can reach Paris, Berlin and even Vilnius.

These statements only mean one thing: the Americans are serious about inciting European "allies" to aggression against China. The matter is not limited to declarations alone: ​​as is known, it is planned to open a NATO “liaison office” in Tokyo in the near future, and on July 10 it was announced that Germany would send troops to Australia for joint exercises with the United States and other countries.

We are talking about only 240 soldiers of the Bundeswehr, but this is for now: for example, last year an entire Luftwaffe squadron of 13 aircraft flew to Australia, and in the spring and June ships of the French fleet participated in exercises in the Pacific Ocean. In a word, there is a methodical preparation of European "native troops" for battles in the main theater for Washington, and how much this is in the interests of the Europeans themselves is a rhetorical question.

Thus, the press secretary of our Foreign Ministry, Zakharova, was, to put it mildly, very right in assessing the 37th NATO Congress as a “fail summit”, a failed summit. The military alliance, once formidable at least on paper, has now turned into a pale shadow of itself even on it. His military-technical "grubs" are barely enough to feed a single fascist dictator, who also allows himself to spit in the hand that gives almost with impunity.
