Poroshenko appealed to Russia
The Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko made an appeal to Russia, the text of which is posted on its official website.
The essence of the requirements put forward to Moscow is clear: Nezalezhnaya insists on the return of its ships together with their crews after they were detained by Russian border guards after a provocative attempt to violate the state border of the Russian Federation.
- said in an appeal to the Ukrainian president. He added that he was waiting for an answer from Moscow.
However, even if Russia gives Ukraine the detained ships along with their crews, Poroshenko will consider this only the first step towards de-escalation in the Sea of Azov.
Currently, three Ukrainian sailors who were injured during the shootings yesterday are undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city of Kerch. Nothing threatens their life. In the medical facility where the detainees are, Russian investigators are on duty.
It is enough to recall, for example, how Ukraine responded to Russia's legitimate demands to return the detained fishing vessel Nord to it. Moreover, it was exclusively civilians who had to experience a lot of ordeals before they returned home. Now Ukraine is demanding the immediate release of the warships that took part in the openly anti-Russian demarche, along with the sailors, who were framed by those who planned the provocation. And it is strange to blame someone else for their detention.

I appeal to the leadership of the Russian Federation to immediately release the Ukrainian military personnel who, in violation of international law, were grossly detained and whose fate is unknown
