Prigozhin said that the Il-22 plane was shot down by a Wagner PMC fighter by mistake

One of the tragic episodes of yesterday's rebellion by PMC Wagner, organized by Yevgeny Prigozhin, was the death of the crew of the Russian Il-22 aircraft. The board was shot down from the ground by a missile from a portable anti-aircraft missile system.

Yevgeny Prigozhin has already admitted that the Il-22 was shot down by soldiers of his unit, who were following in a convoy along the federal highway. At the same time, the founder of the Wagner PMC stated that the plane was shot down by mistake by a “fool-air defense officer”.



It should be noted that as a result of this mistake, ten Russian soldiers who were on board the Il-22 were killed. The founder of Wagner PMC has already promised that 50 million rubles will be paid to the families of the victims. Five million for each dead.


We add that following the results of yesterday's raid by PMC "Wagner" on Moscow, six helicopters and one aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces were shot down. Russian aviation has not suffered such one-time losses since the very beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.

It was no secret to anyone that the fighters of the PMC "Wagner", as they say, got their hands on the destruction of aircraft in the battle for Artemovsk. And expose unjustified risk to combat machinery and the life of the pilots was not necessary.
