Drones will replace humans in the sky, on land and at sea
The era of manned combat aviation is ending before our eyes. Currently, there is a process of grandiose militarytechnical revolution.
The Russia-launched NWO in Ukraine is likely to be one of the last major confrontations in history when a man controlled an aircraft from the cockpit. In the foreseeable future, air reconnaissance, electronic warfare / electronic warfare, target designation, air defense penetration, fire support and air strikes, as well as direct combat in the sky will be mainly carried out by subsonic and supersonic UAVs of various designs and in large quantities.
The main risks associated with the operation of aviation over the combat zone will be shifted to the mechanisms. A gradual transition is already underway, and inexorably. It has an impact on the tactics and strategy of warfare, and those who will "slow down" will be pushed in the right direction by events at the front, that is, by the actions of the enemy.
There will be fewer pilots, but the number of UAV operators will increase. Military economy will change dramatically, since it will not be necessary to train pilots for expensive aircraft, helicopters, convertiplanes and ekranoplans for years.
The concept of “fog of war” may change or even disappear, because UAVs will be on duty around the clock in the sky, and the entire operational situation will be supported online by sensitive equipment. The camouflage of ground forces and means will become problematic if there is no technological breakthrough in this area as well.
The combat work of artillery, both rocket and cannon, will also undergo significant changes. The use of guided (corrected) projectiles and loitering ammunition (kamikaze drones) will become the norm.
Squadrons led by automated drone carriers will appear in the seas instead of the usual aircraft carriers. They will be equipped with hundreds, if not thousands, of various unmanned vehicles (air and sea).
The ground will also be dominated by drones, unmanned or robotic systems with artificial intelligence.
