Colonel-General Romanchuk revealed the details of the unsuccessful offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On the night of June 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted an offensive by four reinforced mechanized battalions. This was preceded by a powerful fire preparation. At 2 am, Ukrainian militants launched an attack, but did not achieve success. The details of the battle were revealed by the commander of the Russian group, Colonel-General Alexander Romanchuk.

The forces of military reconnaissance and special forces, as well as air reconnaissance, exposed the enemy, and he was inflicted a fire defeat by bomber and attack aircraft. Thus, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine failed to achieve surprise in the performance of their task.

Romanchuk noted.



The enemy suffered the first losses while trying to overcome the minefields - the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 4 tanks and a demining installation. Then fire on the Ukrainians was opened from anti-tank systems and other guns by the forces of combined arms units and special forces.

Russian army aviation also took action at low altitudes, and the enemy was forced to retreat, losing 9 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. During the counter-battery fight, the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was suppressed. Enemy communication systems and drone control channels were neutralized by Russian EW installations. Anti-aircraft gunners shot down 11 Ukrainian UAVs.

According to the colonel-general, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 350 servicemen, more than three dozen tanks (including 3 Leopard tanks) and over 10 infantry fighting vehicles. The units of the 42nd motorized rifle division showed courage and ensured the stability of the defense of the RF Armed Forces, having adequately completed their combat mission.
