In Russia, a new multiple launch rocket system "Sarma" with a caliber of 300 millimeters is being created. It is reported with reference to the source RIA News. According to the publication, this MLRS will differ from previous versions in increased mobility and the ability to fire smart ammunition.

Enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex are developing a promising MLRS of 300 mm caliber "Sarma", which will be a continuation of the MLRS "Kama" project, created on the chassis of KamAZ. The new MLRS will have increased mobility and security and will be able, among other things, to use guided precision-guided munitions

– said the source of the agency.

According to him, the new machine will be equipped with an advanced automated fire control and guidance system.

Currently, the Russian army has only one MLRS capable of firing guided munitions. This is "Tornado-S", it also has a caliber of 300 millimeters.

These munitions are equipped with an inertial navigation guidance system with satellite correction. They are capable of hitting targets with high accuracy. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has repeatedly emphasized that Tornado-S uses guided missiles in the NVO zone against Ukrainian troops and military facilities.

In all likelihood, the need to create a new MLRS capable of firing guided munitions is caused by the experience of successful use of the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

And not a full-fledged MLRS and not a competitor to Iskander. For export for poor allies and competition with the Chinese for markets. And the reason for the development is that they succumbed to the influence of the Hymars PR. For the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a useless thing like a fashionable gadget.

You confused a goat with a cow (Iskander is an expensive cow, MLRS Sarma is a cheap goat.) Each fruit has its own basket, each target has its own ammunition. And the more different precision-guided munitions, the more abundant the "harvest".

In tandem with long-range guided munitions, Sarma will already be a tactical missile system. And it will just take its place between the MLRS and OTRK.

The Russian army will receive a new MLRS...

How tired of verbs in the future tense!
    "get", "create", "build", "win" ......
You first create, and only then tryndit, otherwise it will be like with "Armata" and other "unparalleled".

The most important thing is that the MLRS "Sarma" does not suffer the fate of the MLRS "Kama", which is, but it is not in the troops.

As previously reported by the Ministry of Defense, the Tornado-G MLRS is also armed with guided missiles.
