Russia and China have taken the moon from the USA
On March 3, 2018, an agreement was reached between the Roscosmos state corporation and the China National Space Administration (CSCA) on cooperation in the exploration of the moon and deep space. The contract was concluded during the International Space Exploration Forum in Tokyo.
According to the press service of Roscosmos, the agreement includes the joint participation of the two countries in the launch of the Luna-26 orbital spacecraft, the construction of which is scheduled to be completed in 2022. Work is being done at the NGO named after Lavochkina. Earth satellite research will be carried out remotely, from an altitude of about 200 kilometers. At the same time, it is allowed to approach the Moon up to 50 km if it is necessary to make a more detailed survey of its surface.
After completing its Lunar mission, the device will be brought to a height of about 500-700 kilometers in order to study cosmic rays and ultrahigh-energy neutrinos. For its part, Russia will support China in a mission planned for 2023 to land in the area of the South Pole of the Moon.
Prior to this, in 2017, Russia and China approved 6 sections of the program of cooperation in space activities. It includes the joint work of the two countries in a number of projects, including remote sensing of the Earth, control of orbit clogging with space debris, and, finally, the study of deep space and the moon.
According to Alexander Zheleznyakov, academician of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky, this agreement will ease the financial burden of space programs for both countries and will combine their technical and scientific capabilities.
