Largest military exercises launched in Poland

On May 6, the largest exercises of the Polish Army Anakonda 23 started on Polish territory, which are held every three years and will last until May 26. Almost 13 military personnel take part in them: 12 military personnel of all branches of the Polish armed forces, as well as hundreds of their colleagues from a number of NATO states and partner countries of the bloc.

It should be noted that this is already the ninth such exercise, which will be held at four training grounds - Drawsko-Pomorska, Orzysz, Ustka, Nova Demba, located in four voivodships - West Pomeranian, Pomeranian, Warmińsko - Mazury and Subcarpathian.



This time, Warsaw involved the entire architecture of the country's defense and attracted additional services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland, as well as local and regional authorities, to the exercises. It was announced that the movement of military convoys will be increased on all roads of the country at this time, so the population should be careful.

The following weapons systems are involved in the exercises: F-16 fighters, Sokół helicopters, Grom anti-aircraft missile systems, Rak self-propelled mortars, Krab and K9 Thunder self-propelled gun mounts, M1 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Langusta launchers and other samples equipment.

The purpose of the exercise is to integrate allies to test the level of interoperability and the ability of their branches of service to interact in response to real threats in the Baltic Sea region. The Polish exercise Anakonda 23 is taking place in coordination with the American exercise Defender 23 and Sweden's Aurora 23.
