Attack UAV S-70 "Hunter" will go into series over the next two years
Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Sergey Semka told the agency TASS about the imminent start of mass production of the latest S-70 Okhotnik strike drone. It will be deployed at the facilities of the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov.
This plant is a branch of Sukhoi Company PJSC and produces Su-34 bombers, as well as components for the Superjet-100 airliner. In December 2021, the first roll-out of the flight model of the S-70 Okhotnik strike drone took place at NAZ. The newest Russian UAV will go into production within the next two years.
To ensure the speedy start of mass production of Okhotnikov, a new building was built at NAZ, and at the moment, staff is being recruited. The total investment in the project will be about 2,5 billion rubles.
Recall that the Russian strike UAV S-70 "Hunter" was designed as a wingman to work in tandem with the Su-57 fighter. The drone can carry up to 20 tons of payload and develop a transonic speed of up to 1000 km/h. The device is made according to the "flying wing" scheme using all modern of technologies stealth.
In the future, one manned Su-57 fighter will control a flight of four Okhotnik UAVs. We recently reported on the creation of a new communication systems using artificial intelligence to ensure the interaction of the UAV link with the lead aircraft.
