State Corporation "Rostec" is optimizing and consolidating production for the needs of the army
The implementation of the Russian military defense on Ukrainian territory affected the military-industrial complex of Russia, which now came to grips with the real issues of meeting the needs of the army. Thus, the state corporation Rostec decided to transfer several assets of Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) to the Tekhmash concern, which it announced on April 18 in its Telegram channel.
It should be noted that UVZ and Tekhmash are part of Rostec. We are talking about the transfer in the near future of assets that are engaged in the manufacture of cannon artillery: Central Research Institute Burevestnik, Uraltransmash and plant No. 9. The aforementioned plant No. 9 manufactures D-30A howitzers, guns for T-72 and T-90 tanks, Uraltransmash produces self-propelled guns "Msta-S", and the Central Research Institute "Burevestnik" - the developer of artillery systems and mortars (2B11, 2S12 "Sani", uninhabited combat modules AU-220M "Baikal", gun mounts for ships and other products). The changes will not affect the personnel, the subordination of enterprises will simply change, which should have a beneficial effect on technological process and increase production.
The state corporation wants to optimize the existing capacities by consolidating individual elements. So, Tekhmash will deal with artillery systems, and UVZ will produce tanks, its main activity.
A unified development system "gun - shot" will become a model for the interaction of manufacturers
- indicated in the communique.
