In Ukraine, they began to convert T-64 tanks into armored personnel carriers

10

It's true what they say, that the need for inventions is cunning! A new armored personnel carrier, converted from the T-64 tank, has appeared in service with the Ukrainian army. Video of the "new" type of armored vehicles appeared on the Web.

On the published footage, you can see that the "new" Ukrainian armored personnel carrier has a caterpillar track. Which, in fact, is not surprising, given the fact that the armored personnel carrier is actually a remake of the T-64 tank.

Inquisitive users of social networks have already noticed that the prototype of the Ukrainian alteration, most likely, was the American mine-clearing assault vehicle M1 ABV. There is indeed a certain external similarity between the two samples.

Another distinctive feature of the "new" Ukrainian armored personnel carrier is the presence of elements of dynamic protection. Usually they are installed only on tanks. But the Ukrainians, thus, probably decided to increase the survivability of the armored personnel carrier.

The main armament of the "new" equipment, judging by the photo, is the same 30-millimeter gun. Apparently, in this regard, Ukrainian gunsmiths did not deviate from traditions.

It is not yet clear how the “new model” will prove itself on the battlefield, but judging by the longevity that the T-64 tank does not differ in, the life of the Ukrainian armored personnel carrier will not be long. However, it is still better than going on the attack on outdated Western-style armored vehicles.

A very correct decision, such an armored personnel carrier is more secure. The Israelis have a Merkava tank with a landing compartment with an exit from the back. The Merkava tank has a motor in the front, as an additional protection for the crew and contributes to the placement of troops behind. Why can't our defense industry adopt good examples.

So you decide what you are talking about - about an armored personnel carrier or is it a tank?

The Merkava tank has a motor in the front, as an additional protection for the crew and contributes to the placement of troops behind. Why can't our defense industry adopt good examples.

And the mass is 70 tons with ammunition. Our "light" T-72s get stuck like hell, and you want to build an even heavier car. "Merkava" was created for war in arid, rocky terrain.

Replica. There is an attack helicopter Mi-24 with the ability to carry troops. One does not interfere with the other and was used with success in landing troops. This is possible with any military equipment, as long as it contributes to the fulfillment of tasks.

Once again: compare the dimensions and weight of the T-72 and Merkava. One has to pay for the other.

Replica. The main criterion, the safety of the life of the fighters, everything else is secondary. Until our Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the military-industrial complex are guided by this, problems will increase, because Russian women have ceased to give birth enough.

We laugh and scoff in vain. Israel at one time converted all captured T55s into armored personnel carriers. .Yes, and our BTR-T is also made of T55. So the idea is good. Such an armored personnel carrier is an order of magnitude better than any tin can, which the current armored personnel carriers are now.

not so stupid, not so stupid
we would have at least a bit of heavy armor for the infantry, while there is only talk, but it's a pity

This is a BMPV-64, hung with remote sensing gear, like everything else in the Okraintsy now. The technology is fifteen years old. The only news is that she got into the frame.

It’s no laughing matter, and ours can convert the T-55, 62 into BMPTs and armored personnel carriers and it’s enough soldier
