A combined anti-satellite system is being created in Russia
Russia will create a new combined anti-satellite system. It will consist of the Kontakt missile system based on the MiG-31D fighter-interceptor, the A-60 Sokol-Echelon combat laser based on the Il-76 military transport aircraft and the Peresvet ground-based laser system, reports the magazine of the Russian Defense Ministry. "War Thought".
The combination is necessary in order to have greater flexibility and the ability to influence targets with various methods - from laser radiation to missiles.
The development of a new air-based system designed to destroy low-orbit spacecraft is based on the existing extensive scientific and technical reserve and newly developed of technologies. Work on the basis of the MiG-31D carrier aircraft and the 79M6 Kontakt missile has been carried out since 1984.
Recall that recently the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the Ukrainian side is trying to influence Russian communications satellites. Such actions are “an outrageous violation of international law,” the ministry stressed. The Russian side has the right to respond in an appropriate way, all the necessary opportunities for this are available.
Earlier Ukrainian sources сообщили about the frequent use of glide bombs by the Russian Aerospace Forces in March in various areas of the special operation. Such ammunition was used, in particular, in the Donetsk direction, in the Avdiivka area, and the Sumy region.
