Il-96-400M lit up on social networks

18

The first unofficial photo of the first built flight prototype Il-96-400M (serial number 0001) has appeared on the Web, not yet painted, rolled out of the workshop to the territory of the Voronezh Joint-Stock Aircraft Building Company (VASO), which is part of PJSC Il. The development of the latest modification of the wide-body long-haul passenger aircraft has been carried out since 2016.

It should be noted that this picture was posted on the social network "VKontakte" by Dmitry Parinov from Voronezh, who is very fond of aircraft and Russia. By the way, we also hope that we will be able to see this beautiful aircraft in July at the MAKS-2023 air show in Zhukovsky, because Russian functionaries promised more than a year ago that the Il-96-400M would take to the skies before the end of 2022.

Note that this modification, also known as the Il-496, provides for the upgrade of avionics (digital flight and navigation system), which will reduce the crew in the cockpit to two people. The aircraft also received a fuselage lengthened by 9 meters. It is assumed that the aircraft will consist entirely of Russian components and even receive PS-90A3 engines, its maximum flight range will exceed 8 thousand km, and the maximum number of passenger seats will be 370.

We remind you that on April 6, 1993, the first flight of the Il-96MO prototype, the first post-Soviet aircraft developed in close cooperation with Western companies, took place. It was equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW2337 engines and Rockwell Collins avionics. It was capable of carrying up to 435 passengers, had a maximum payload of 58 tons and a practical flight range of 12,8 thousand km. Certification according to the standards of Russia and the FAA was completed by the end of 1997, but the Il-96MO did not go into the series.

      This is the most misunderstood...

And what’s incomprehensible? There were Amer Pratt & Whitney engines, now they installed Soviet junk. There were imported avionics, now they are forced to sculpt "what they got in China"

    Darn.
according to the text, the IL-96MO 93 is better in terms of performance characteristics than the IL-96-400M 2022 ..

      The text is like this!
IL 96 MO, already had an elongated airframe by 9.3 m. Pratt and Whitney engines and the Collins flight and navigation complex. Built in 1 copy.
IL 96 400M with PS 90A1 engines is no worse. 3 cabin versions from 350 -400 seats. Range

It seems to be a competent person, a sort of "forum fighter", one of your phrases in the "text" speaks of this.
Why such cynicism, Sergey? Are you many years old and are you a victim of the "gulag", or "young" brought up on a wiki? hi
Before you "outrage", study the materiel!

Nobody argues and is not indignant, it's just not clear. If we take it by years, then 1993 years have passed since 30. If they restore the project of 1993, then there is nothing wrong with that, we Russians will only be happy. We have trouble with Russian aircraft. We need different aircraft now, and not in 10 years, as the Ministry of Industry and Trade claims. There is the production of IL-96-300, so let out one aircraft per month, otherwise officials powder their brains with breakfast and hope to import imported aircraft again.

I didn’t understand either, the old modification took noticeably more passengers and flew much further. At the same time, it is written that the new version has an elongated fuselage. How is this to be understood?

Airplanes are being built very slowly in Russia ... Very slowly! The aviation industry was destroyed quickly, and a new one is being created in pain. God forbid to repeat these mistakes in the future!

I dare to suggest that if it is launched into a series, then in THREE, FOUR years it will be possible to expect that its wing will also be made of carbon fiber, as on Boeing 787 Dreamliner. And since carbon fiber is stronger and lighter than duralumin, its wing should become significantly narrower in cross section, which will give much less drag and a reduction in fuel load.

"I dare to assume" that no one will recalculate a 35-year-old aircraft in a new way. Even the -400 modification (which has been promised "not on paper" for at least 15 years) was developed 30 years ago. Half of those specialists are either retired or even further away. Who and which wing will design for you. And most importantly, WHY if the whole world has long since switched to twin-engine wide-body aircraft. According to IL96, the future is quite clear: they will make 5-10 pieces of boards for the special squad in the next 10-15 years, and everything will calm down on this ...

There was a wonderful IL-86 from Soviet times, he himself flew as a passenger, 35 years had not passed since the IL-96 was born, however, protracted labor! recourse

You are a little off topic. The 96 was born in the early 90s as a modification of the 86 with other (more economical) engines. Since then, they have been produced piece by piece.

I flew a couple of times on IL96 in 1995. It was a good plane for its time. the Americans gave 4 engines for modification "M" purely to try. No one was going to supply these engines to Russia. I think that 8 t.km. in the text is a typo. Even in 95, Il96 flew without landing Moscow - Seattle. The flight lasted about 12 hours; at an average speed of 900-920 km / h, you can calculate the distance.
Now the plant in Voronezh produces about 0.5-0.75 Il96 per year. In order for him to go to 1 board per year, you need to increase productivity by 100%. Those who work in production know the answer, how real it is.

Surely real, but an aircraft factory is basically a fuselage and wings, and the rest is an assembly of components. I don’t know how realistic the supply of more components is.

And why does the IL-496 have only 8000 km?

I am not surprised. Now, if vodka or cigarettes were cheaper, I would immediately lose consciousness. And so...

The fuselage was lengthened by 9 meters, and the number of passengers decreased by 65 people. How is that ?
