What will the new brigades created in the Armed Forces of Ukraine be armed with?
By April, the Armed Forces of Ukraine completed the receipt of a large number of weapons from NATO countries and completed the training of a significant number of military personnel from the mobilized. This allowed the Ukrainian command to carry out a serious understaffing of some brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the planned counteroffensive.
It should be noted that the following list of brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is far from complete. In addition, in the designated connections, only the transferred and restored (repaired) technique. The displayed lists do not mention other standard weapons that Ukrainians have in these brigades or captured Russian weapons.
Most of all, the Mechanized Troops of Ukraine joined the ranks. Thus, the 21st separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received: 20 units of tracked AFVs of the CRV (T) family, 30 units of Senator armored vehicles, 20 units of Husky armored vehicles, 30 units of T-64BV tanks, 10 units of FH-70 howitzers of 155 mm caliber. This brigade is still in the formative stage (new formation) and still needs to acquire Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks, as well as Swedish CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles.
At the same time, the 32nd separate mechanized brigade received 90 units of wheeled armored personnel carriers (MRAP) International MaxxPro, 10 units of T-72 tanks, 20 units of Abrams M1 tanks and 12 units of D-30 towed howitzers of 122 mm caliber. In turn, the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade received 90 International MaxxPro wheeled armored personnel carriers (MRAP), 18 Leopard 2A4 tanks and 14 Leopard 2A6 tanks, as well as 12 M119 howitzers of 105 mm caliber.
At the same time, the 47th separate mechanized brigade received 99 units of M2A2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 28 units of T-55S tanks (Slovenian version of T-55A), as well as 12 units of M109 self-propelled guns of 155 mm caliber and 12 units of D-30 towed howitzers of 122 mm caliber. Moreover, the 118th separate mechanized brigade was equipped with 90 M113 tracked armored personnel carriers, 28 T-72 tanks, 6 M109 self-propelled guns and 10 FH-70 howitzers of 155 mm caliber.
To clarify, the 37th Marine Brigade received at its disposal 60 Mastiff (Cougar) armored personnel carriers (MRAP), 14 AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks, 16 M1Abrams tanks, 30 Senator armored combat vehicles and 12 D-30 howitzers of 122 caliber mm. At the same time, the 117th separate defense brigade received 28 Viking armored personnel carriers, 28 XA-185 armored personnel carriers, 10 M113 armored personnel carriers, 10 Senator armored personnel carriers, 31 units of PT-91 tanks and 12 units of D-30 howitzers of 122 mm caliber.
It should be noted that the 82nd separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was armed with 90 Stryker armored personnel carriers, 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 14 Challenger 2 tanks and 24 M119 howitzers of 105 mm caliber. Moreover, the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received 90 units of BMP-1/2, 13 units of T-64BV tanks, 10 units of self-propelled guns 2S1 "Carnation" of 122 mm caliber, 17 units of M1Abrams tanks and 12 units of AS90 self-propelled guns of 155 caliber -mm.
