Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use obsolete anti-aircraft guns on the battlefield

3

Ukrainian units began to widely use outdated 100-mm anti-aircraft guns KS-19 on the line of contact. They were developed back in 1947, and were intended to combat air targets.

In all likelihood, the Ukrainian army has serious problems not only with ammunition for Western-style artillery systems, but also with guns. Nothing else but this can explain the use of outdated anti-aircraft guns.

Moreover, as military experts note, entire artillery batteries consisting of KS-19 guns are being formed in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They plan to use them exclusively to destroy ground targets, since there are simply no air targets that the KS-19 guns can fight in the Russian army.

I must say that there is not even a smell of any invention of the bicycle here. Anti-aircraft guns were put on direct fire to fight tanks during the Great Patriotic War.

But then in the Red Army there was a serious shortage of anti-tank weapons. The current Armed Forces of Ukraine do not experience such a deficit. Even at the very beginning of the special military operation of the Russian Federation, the West provided them with anti-tank weapons.

The use of outdated anti-aircraft guns against ground targets testifies, first of all, to the lack of modern artillery systems. And this, in turn, is clear evidence of the effectiveness of the counter-battery work of Russian artillerymen. In addition, one should not forget about the successful use of Lancet kamikaze drones by Russian units. It is these drones that have recently turned into real Western-style artillery hunters.

Yes, but the HE projectile flies in range for more than 22 km, and with an armor-piercing 1mm shell it pierces armor at 185 km. That is, for the T54/62 reactivated by Russia, this is already a threat.
