The US Department of Defense does not consider it necessary to change the readiness of its nuclear forces after the decision of the Russian Federation to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. According to the American side, Russia is not going to use nuclear weapons during a special military operation in Ukraine.

Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin. According to him, Russia is not going to transfer its tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, but will place them on the territory of the republic and train the Belarusian military.

Vladimir Putin stressed that the United States is taking similar actions.

Basically, we are doing the same thing that the US has been doing for decades.

- said Vladimir Putin.

The reaction of the Americans to the statement of the Russian president leads the Reuters agency. The publication considers Russia's actions to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus as a desire to cool the ardor of the country's western neighbors and Ukraine.

In addition, this is a step in response to the actions of the UK, which will supply Ukraine with shells with depleted uranium, the agency said in a publication.

Recall that some time ago, the British authorities announced that they were ready to transfer ammunition with depleted uranium to the Ukrainian army. In Russia, they believe that this step could have horrific consequences not only for Ukraine, but for the whole of Europe.
