Russian journalist and military expert Ilya Kramnik believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have more chances to organize a successful offensive from the right bank of the Dnieper than the Russian army to repel the attack.
According to Kramnik, the main ally of the Ukrainian army in the upcoming offensive is geography.
The right bank of the enemy is high. It is easier to disguise positions and movements on it, it is easier to observe from there, therefore, it is easier to attack - if such a task is set. Our left bank is low. It is difficult to hide positions and movements in a steppe that is flat as a table, and very difficult when the enemy has NATO reconnaissance capabilities
- Ilya Kramnik wrote in his telegram channel.
Ilya Kramnik believes that the success of the Ukrainian offensive across the Dnieper will largely be determined by the actions of the Russian army, which is holding the line on the left bank of the river.
It should be noted that recently Ukrainian units located on the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region have been conducting intensive training to force the river. The Ukrainian military is working out a scenario in which the landing force is transported across the river to the PTS and landed on the right bank.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine made several attempts to land troops on the right bank of the Dnieper, but all of them were successfully repulsed by Russian troops. It is assumed that the crossing of the Dnieper in the Kherson region could become a distraction during the large-scale offensive of the Ukrainian army, which is supposed to begin in May this year.
