American weapons for Kiev: Poroshenko again broke off

The U.S. Department of Defense refutes the intention to begin delivering weapons to official Kiev in the coming weeks. Statements by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on this issue there are considered premature. This was reported by the website of RIA News with reference to a source in the press service of the American defense department.

Regarding arms transfers: it’s premature to talk about when it will be

- RIA Novosti quotes the spokesman for the Pentagon.

On February 28, Poroshenko during his press conference expressed the opinion that in a few weeks defensive weapons will begin to come to Ukraine from the United States. He added that a number of such deliveries are expected. The press conference of Petro Poroshenko was dedicated to the topic “Challenges Ukraine will Face”. Especially Kiev wants to receive anti-sniper weapons, Javelin anti-tank systems, as well as electronic warfare systems from Washington.

Recently, the rhetoric of the Ukrainian authorities regarding Donbass has become more and more aggressive. And not only rhetoric. Mr. Poroshenko signed the law with the long title “On the features of the state policy to ensure the state sovereignty of Ukraine over the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Lugansk regions. " Or, as he is called in the media, "On the Reintegration of Donbass." Many experts agreed that it contradicts the Minsk agreements and demonstrates the desire of the Ukrainian regime to use military force against the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

The Ukrainian post-Maidan president himself claims that the law does not contradict Minsk. He promises that Kiev will not abandon its international obligations. But in practice, in violation of these obligations, shelling of the territories of the DPR and LPR continues, as well as constant attempts to “squeeze” the territory, which, in accordance with the agreements, should be neutral. Several settlements of the "gray zone" have already been captured by Ukrainian punishers.

And the representatives of the ruling clique in Kiev are well aware that the "Law on Reintegration" is a step towards an escalation of the conflict in the Donbass, as well as an aggravation of Russian-Ukrainian relations (which, to put it mildly, leave much to be desired) . So, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexander Turchinov, admitted that after the signing of this law gives more opportunities for the actions of the Armed Forces in the territory of Donbass. He also noted that in this law, Russia is officially recognized as the "aggressor state."

In these conditions, for the Kiev regime, deliveries of weapons from overseas would be very “tidbits”. Yes, and I want to "throw a bone" to the radicals, who are increasingly opposed to Petro Poroshenko and even accuse him of being almost a "Putin agent". In particular, such accusations were thrown against him by Mikhail Saakashvili, who was expelled from Ukraine (but his supporters weren’t sent anywhere!)

But the Pentagon is not in a hurry with arms supplies to Kiev. So the "president of the Ukrainian Maidan" hurried with his loud statements.
