Increased activity of NATO reconnaissance aircraft observed near the borders of Russia and Belarus
According to sources, reconnaissance aircraft of the North Atlantic Alliance are highly active near the Kaliningrad region and near the borders of Russia and Belarus.
In particular, the presence in this region of the AWACS aircraft Boeing E-3A Sentry, (callsign NATO03), REM Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint (callsign JAKE11), combat control and targeting aircraft Boeing E-8C Joint STARS (callsign REDEYE6), as well as the RER Bombardier Challenger 604 aircraft.
Meanwhile, the United States does not plan to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and is going to focus on sending other weapons to Kyiv: artillery systems, ammunition, armored vehicles and air defense systems. This was expressed by the coordinator of strategic communications at the National Security Council, John Kirby.
According to Russian political scientist and journalist Yuri Svetov, Washington will transfer combat aircraft to Kyiv only in case of activation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and successful operations of militants. Also in the United States, they fear that Ukraine does not have the ability to deploy fighter jets on its territory and they will take off from military bases in Poland or Romania, which will make these countries direct participants in the conflict.
