Armed Forces of Ukraine use cardboard drones from Australia against the Russian army
The Ukrainian military is successfully using Australian-made cardboard drones against the Russian army. It is reported that SYPAQ delivers about 100 cardboard UAVs to Kyiv every month.
The Ukrainian military uses them to deliver ammunition and medical supplies to the front line, as well as for reconnaissance. In addition, Australian cardboard drones can drop small explosive devices on Russian military personnel.
As experts explain, SYPAQ drones can be launched manually or using a catapult. Their carrying capacity, depending on the model, is from 3 to 5 kg. UAVs can stay in the air for up to three hours and cover distances from 40 to 120 km. To prevent the cardboard from getting wet from rain and snow, it is coated with wax.
It is emphasized that unmanned aerial vehicles made of cardboard have a very low cost. And this means that they are not at all a pity to lose. At the same time, they are of great benefit to the Ukrainian military.
Note that the Russian industry is not yet able to meet the needs of the army in unmanned aerial vehicles. There are still not enough of them in the troops. Meanwhile, the need for their presence is now obvious even to those who were previously a principled opponent of equipping Russian units with quadrocopters.
One can only hope that in the near future Russian units will receive the required number of UAVs. Otherwise, success on the line of contact can be forgotten.
