Stoned Country: The Consequences of Legalizing Marijuana in Canada

4
Three weeks have passed since Canada legalized the sale and use of marijuana for recreational purposes. Now in this country the storage of dried cannabis leaves is allowed, if their weight does not exceed 30 grams. Oil and seeds of this plant are also allowed. Canadians can now grow hemp on their own, but no more than four bushes. Naturally, all this applies only to adult citizens.

Stoned Country: The Consequences of Legalizing Marijuana in Canada

To trade marijuana, you need to get a special license. The product is sold both in specialized stores and online. Among legal drug dealers in Canada, there are both state-owned enterprises and private companies.

But this new Canadian industry economics ran into an unexpected problem. Demand for goods turned out to be so great that trade literally choked. As soon as hemp was legalized on October 17, huge lines formed in specialized stores. Stocks of goods, designed for long-term trading, diverged in a few hours.

The store owners were looking forward to rabid profits, but their joy was premature. The goods have ended, but there are no new deliveries. Legal marijuana was in severe shortage. Stores have to increase the number of days off due to lack of goods or close.

The main goal of legalizing marijuana was to fight the black drug market. Now she is at risk. Faced with a shortage of legal cannabis, buyers may return to illegal suppliers.

It was the same in the Netherlands. At first, people just got stoned out of this rubbish, purely out of curiosity. Then everything faded away. Now there in the "cafes" customers are a few fans to have fun and tourists who come to try "shoals" and "muffins". We must not forget that in the Netherlands the "freedom" of marijuana is actually not real - its use in workplaces is prohibited and people are constantly being tested for drugs - they will be fired. And considering that this shit lasts for almost a month in urine ... well, you know. I think it will be the same in Canada. - At first, the excitement, and when the people are faced with "hidden regulation" everything will subside. Now, the excitement is caused, purely by the "wow!"
