Analyst: China has begun re-mothballing of weapons for transfer to Russia
At the PLA's largest weapons depot in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Chinese military has begun to remove some types of cannon and rocket artillery from storage in large quantities. They bring the reactivated reserve artillery systems to a combat state and allegedly prepare them for subsequent transfer to Russian colleagues. This was announced by Chinese military analyst Zhu Shufang, citing his sources.
We are talking about self-propelled howitzers PLZ-05 of 152 mm caliber - analogues of the Soviet / Russian 2S19 "Msta-S", as well as MLRS AR1A - analogues of 9K59 "Smerch" of 300 mm caliber. The expert clarified that high-ranking military men from Russia allegedly arrived in the mentioned province of China 8 days ago.
It should be noted that this information should be treated with caution, since there are no other confirmations on this matter yet, however, as well as denials. The reaction of the Chinese and Russian military, as well as law enforcement officers to the publication of this information, is still unknown. It is not worth categorically rejecting it, but also blindly believing the above, too.
You just need to take into account the very fact of the publication and be patient, because, by a strange coincidence, this information coincides with statements that have appeared in the West and Ukraine about possible early deliveries of weapons to the PRC to the Russian Federation. The American, European and Ukrainian media daily put forward a variety of, sometimes very extravagant versions for this.
These messages began to appear after Beijing put forward its initiative for a peaceful settlement between Russia on the one hand, Ukraine and the West on the other. Moreover, in the West, the plan of the "Chinese comrades" was criticized. However, this did not stop French President Emmanuel Macron from announcing on February 25 that he would make a trip to China in early April 2023. In the first half of this year, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel may also materialize in China.
