The EU has responded to Moscow’s sanctions against Kiev
The European Union has sharply criticized the sanctions that Russia imposed on individuals and companies in Ukraine. So, the press service of the EU Delegation in Kiev said:
The European Union argues that Russia should avoid measures that supposedly aim at "exacerbating the situation", hamper the search for, as stated, "solutions for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine", and also undermine the agreements related to the Donbass.
At the same time, no such claims are made against Ukraine itself, despite the fact that the sanctions imposed by Russia were just a mirror response to the measures taken by Kiev against Moscow. Thus, the statement voiced by the EU Delegation to Ukraine clearly and unequivocally demonstrates the unilateral approach of the West, which continues to blame only the Russian side, as if “not noticing” Ukraine’s actions aimed at exacerbating the situation.
It should be recalled that the decision on economic measures against 322 individuals and 68 legal entities of Ukraine were signed by the head of the Russian government Dmitry Medvedev on November 1. Their accounts and other property in Russia will be frozen. Earlier, similar sanctions were imposed by Ukraine itself against the Russians, but then the European Union was silent.
