Zhirinovsky poured water on the air

The manners of "House-2" have spread to the campaign. On the air of the Russia-1 TV channel, a skirmish broke out during a debate between Russian presidential candidates Sergei Baburin (Narodnaya Volya party), Ksenia Sobchak (Civic Initiative party) and Vladimir Zhirinovsky (LDPR). The conflict ended with Sobchak pouring a glass of water into Zhirinovsky. The debate went live and aired in the Far East. It was planned that in Moscow they will leave at 23 o’clock.

First, during a speech by Sergei Baburin, a dispute arose between him and Zhirinovsky. Sobchak intervened in the discussion, shouting "Stop the bazaar." According to her, the participants of "House-2" behave more decently than her rivals in the presidential race.

When Zhirinovsky called Sobchak “a fool” and urged to shut up, she splashed water on his face. In response, the permanent leader of the LDPR expressed obscene language to her. “Well, it has begun,” it remained to say to the leader Vladimir Solovyov, who in vain tried to repay the quarrel.

I use your own methods

- said Sobchak, apparently recalling the case when in 1995 in the telecast “One on One” Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Boris Nemtsov splashed orange juice at each other.

To Zhirinovsky’s call to the presenter to expel Sobchak from the studio, he answered that he had no right to do this.

I even had to slightly sprinkle my grandfather with cold water to stop the attack, otherwise the poor fellow directly went into foul language

- said Sobchak after the incident.

Commenting on this conflict, the Secretary of the Central Election Commission, Maya Grishina, told RT:

This issue is beyond the competence of the CEC. Everything related to the relationship of candidates is not only in the plane of the electoral law, but also in all other legislative frameworks. There are no special rules in this case. Live debates are not controlled by the Central Election Commission. But, if one of the candidates considers that such actions violated his voting rights, the CEC will be obliged to consider such an appeal
