NYT: Chinese balloon shot down in the US was equipped with reconnaissance equipment

The New York Times newspaper, citing State Department documents, reports that the balloon shot down by the US military in the sky over South Carolina was stuffed with electronic intelligence equipment. He, according to the publication, was part of the intelligence program of the PRC.

The balloon was equipped with antennas, which, most likely, could receive communication signals and determine the location of the objects transmitting them. The probe is equipped with solar panels to ensure operation equipment. China's intelligence, the report says, covered more than 40 countries on five continents.

Pictures of the balloon, which showed the presence of the above equipment, were able to make reconnaissance aircraft Lockheed U-2 at a time when the probe was still in the air. This equipment did not correspond to what is usually installed on meteorological probes, experts of the department concluded.

The US authorities believe that the balloon manufacturer is connected to the Chinese Armed Forces. It is not yet known what data the probe collected. However, according to Bloomberg, it had Western-made components with English inscriptions.

Earlier it was reported that a few days ago over the territory of the United States shot down balloon from China. A video of how this happened was published on the Web, and it also became possible to determine the type of missile with which the Americans destroyed the Chinese aircraft.

Now the United States will begin to write whatever they want, who will prove it. Just to remind the USA on the U-2 aircraft, why it was built and what flights it made. Also recall the CP-72 "Black Bird" (black bird), its purpose and flights over different states without permits .. Here the United States will be in a complete garbage pit.
