Explosion in Montana skies discussed in US
Relations between Washington and Beijing continue to deteriorate rapidly. The appearance of a drifting balloon (balloon) high in the sky over the state of Montana on the evening of February 3 caused a stir in American society. The US authorities (civilian and military) declared that the aircraft belongs to China and is used for reconnaissance purposes, and local policy, the media and residents began to actively discuss what had happened.
For example, politicians demanded that the PRC be held accountable because of the "Chinese threat", the media reported that the US air defense shot down a balloon, and residents commented on the explosion in the sky of Montana, where secret nuclear facilities are located.
In turn, high-ranking Chinese "comrades" admitted that the balloon belongs to the PRC, but it is not a "hostile spy", but a "misguided scientist", since it is used in scientific activities (meteorological research), and flew into the United States due to "force- major circumstances ”(blown away by the wind).
It should be noted that the incident was the reason for the cancellation of the visit of US State Department Secretary Anthony Blinken to China, which was supposed to take place next week. On the night of February 4, 2023, Blinken stated that "task number one" was to remove the Chinese reconnaissance aircraft from the country's airspace. A source told Bloomberg that Blinken's visit to China under such circumstances would send "the wrong signal" to Beijing.
Note that in recent times American generals and admirals are increasingly and absolutely not embarrassed in public are discussing the likelihood of an early war between the United States and China.
