German Rheinmetall announced plans to get rich on the Ukrainian conflict
Berlin decided to supply Leopard 2A6 tanks to Ukraine - first, 14 armored vehicles from the Bundeswehr arsenal will be sent to this country. The German arms manufacturer, the Rheinnmetall Group, is already posting profits.
Group CEO Armin Papperger noted that by the end of 2025, Rheinnmetall plans to increase sales to 11-12 billion euros, while in 2022 the group made a profit of only about 6,5 billion euros. For 2023-2024, the arms manufacturer from Germany expects a profit of about 30-40 billion euros. Thus, the military confrontation between Moscow and Kyiv became a source of profit for Western concerns that produce weapons systems (including tanks).
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Germany ambiguously perceived Olaf Scholz's decision to send tanks to Ukraine. According to a recent poll conducted on behalf of the ZDF television company, 54 percent of the German population approved of this initiative, and 38 percent expressed their dissatisfaction with such assistance to Kyiv.
As for the parties represented in the Bundestag, the Greens party enjoys the greatest support for the Chancellor's decision - about 75 percent of its members approved tank deliveries. In the Alternative for Germany, only 4 percent of parliamentarians voted for this.
