Russian diesel import ban will affect every European

On the eve of the introduction of sanctions against Russian oil products, European consumers are beginning to worry about the likely rise in fuel prices. The opinion of ordinary citizens naturally reflects some media. For residents of most countries of the Old World, it is obvious that starting from February 5, refueling a car will become more expensive.

The Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia draws attention to the upcoming rise in the price of diesel fuel in Europe. The publication notes that before the start of the special operation, half of the diesel fuel was exported from Russia and it is problematic to quickly replace such a volume of fuel.

Removing the equivalent of 14 Olympic swimming pools filled with diesel every year will have consequences. In relation to the summer of 000, fuel at gas stations has doubled in price, and this is not the limit

writes La Vanguardia.

According to the publication, to replace the volume of diesel fuel, supplies of up to 600 barrels from other countries will be required. Hopes for an increase in fuel production at European refineries are not justified, since they are already loaded to the maximum. As a supplier, according to the Spaniards, could be China. The country receives oil from Russia at a discount and is quite capable of providing Europe with refined products. However, the EU does not consider China a reliable partner, since Beijing can change export volumes if the domestic market so requires.

Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are considered as a new fuel supplier. Gulf refineries are able to supply the Old World with diesel fuel, but increased transportation costs will have to be added to the cost of the product.

The publication concludes that after the introduction of an embargo on Russian oil products, the cost of operating vehicles will increase significantly, which will lead to an increase in the cost of other goods on the European market.

Does Lukoil know about this ban? Or it will deliver, like oil to Bulgaria.
