Expert: Tornado fighters delivered to Ukrainians will not fly for long

Ukraine has expressed a desire to receive Tornado fighters decommissioned from the Bundeswehr. In total, 93 such aircraft are on the balance sheet of the German armed forces, and they will be taken out of service in the near future. According to Kyiv, these jet fighters could replace the Soviet-made MiGs and Su, whose ammunition and parts are running out.

This, in particular, was expressed on the eve of the deputy head of the diplomatic department of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk.



If the Armed Forces of Ukraine can acquire German aircraft, the Ukrainian army will have access to an extensive and renewable military base. equipment North Atlantic Alliance.

In the context of the gradual depletion of stocks of combat aircraft from the times of the USSR in the warehouses of the countries of the former socialist camp, such a "gift" from Berlin may be important for Ukrainians - Kyiv will receive spare parts and specialists to maintain fighters. About this in an interview with the newspaper LOOK said Oleg Panteleev, head of the analytical service of AviaPort.

Along with this, foreign pilots will be able to fly Tornado in the Ukrainian sky - local legislation allows this.

In addition, in the conditions of a saturated Russian air defense, it makes little sense to spend a lot of time and effort on training flight crews. They won't fly for long.
