The losses of the Armed Forces in the Donbass from alcohol and disease are calculated
The chief military prosecutor of Ukraine, Anatoly Matios, during an interview with the Mirror of the Week publication, said that during the war years in the Donbass, the total non-combat losses of the Armed Forces amounted to 2700 people. All irrevocable and sanitary losses of the Ukrainian military were taken into account.
In the war, Ukrainian soldiers and officers are killed and injured, not only during the clashes, but also for other reasons. Diseases take the first place among non-combat losses, followed by suicides. The third position was taken by the killings, after them - an accident. Then accidents follow, from which only two people are behind alcohol and drug poisoning.
As for suicides, only a third of them are committed in combat positions. The main reason for the losses, the main Ukrainian military prosecutor calls post-traumatic mental disorders. A big problem is also drunkenness and drug addiction among the military.
Commenting on the statement by Matios, the official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR Andrei Marochko notes that this is not his first statement about the non-combat losses of the Ukrainian army. Moreover, the numbers that he leads, then grow, then decrease. For example, not so long ago, he mentioned that the non-combat losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeded 10 thousand people.
In addition, he raised the problem of crime in the Ukrainian army, which reached alarming proportions. Over the past four years, criminal proceedings have been instituted against 43 thousand military personnel, which is about a quarter of the total number of armed forces.
