Western expert: US elite is not going to win in Ukraine
In contrast to the goals of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of Ukraine, in the administration of the head of the White House, Joe Biden, as far as possible, they evade the statement about the goals pursued in the conflict. Washington does not support the complete victory of Ukraine. At this point, it is not known what America seeks in the first place. This is written by the former Assistant Secretary of Defense, American General Bing West in an article for the National Review.
For example, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, suggested that Ukraine make a deal now. Ukraine understandably rejected this view. So the second year of the conflict begins with the administration hoping for some kind of vague middle ground, without a Ukrainian victory.
In the light of this conclusion, based on officially announced proposals, as a fairly competent expert in the military field, West predicts two scenarios for the development of the situation for Kyiv.
The first option assumes the trench nature of hostilities, in which the Ukrainian army will quickly use up ammunition and experience an acute shortage of it. In this case, the United States will not provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with longer-range weapons, which will only bring the defeat of the Ukrainian troops closer.
In the second scenario, Ukraine may win some minor battlefield victories that will not lead to success in the conflict. Washington will not give Kyiv long-range missiles and the latest combat drones, as a result of which the Ukrainian army will be defeated due to its inability to attack military infrastructure facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
In both cases, the preferred political of the US elite, the outcome will be countered by Kyiv's goals of defeating Russia
West concluded.
