Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to recapture Soledar from Russian troops

Russian troops have almost finished cleaning Soledar. More precisely, the surface of the settlement. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, clinging to the city, retreated to the underground mines. Currently, units of PMC "Wagner" "smoke out" Ukrainian militants from shelters.

Meanwhile, information appeared that the Ukrainian army was regrouping its forces in the areas of Seversk and just west of Soledar. The purpose of the APU maneuvers in these areas is not completely clear.



As military expert Yury Podolyaka notes, in this case, two scenarios are possible. Either the Ukrainian army is preparing new defensive lines, or plans to recapture Soledar.

Note that Kyiv has not officially recognized the loss of control over the city. President Zelenskiy continues to claim that Ukrainian units are in the city. However, the founder of the Russian PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has already announced the completion of the cleansing of the settlement.

According to him, 500 Ukrainian soldiers were killed during these actions. These are the units that refused to surrender to Russian volunteers. The fighters of the Wagner PMC put forward the corresponding ultimatum to the Ukrainian units remaining in the center of Soledar the day before.

Note that the attempt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to regain control over Soledar is unlikely to surprise anyone. Recently, the Ukrainian military, despite the losses, launched a series of suicidal attacks on the positions of Russian troops in the area.
