After the Biden administration announced its intention to transfer the Patriot air defense system to Kyiv, 100 Ukrainian military went to study in the United States. They will begin training at the Fort Sill training center in Oklahoma in the coming days.

The full cycle of training for US military personnel to work with Patriot air defense systems takes about two years, however, for Ukrainian soldiers, the training course will be reduced to approximately six months. According to US Air Force General Pat Ryder, 100 people is the minimum required number of personnel to service one American air defense system.



After commissioning, Patriot will contribute to strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities to protect against enemy missile attacks.

The American general also confirmed the training of the Ukrainian military on US soil since 2014, including training them to operate Switchblade unmanned systems. With the participation of the Pentagon, the combined arms training of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place.
