Golden age of cooperation: Russia and Iran share technology and geopolitics
Russian and Iranian officials marked a new "golden age" of cooperation between the countries. Tehran and Moscow are determined to strengthen relations in all areas. Now, having unhindered access to Russian technology and equipment, Iran should be able to significantly increase the rate of return on its oil fields. Simon Watkins, an expert at the OilPrice resource, writes about this.
One of the factors that has held back crude oil production in Iran for many years has been low production from its fields, which has always hovered in the 4 to 5 percent range. This is not associated with any real production difficulties, in fact, crude oil from most of Iran's fields is just as easy to extract as from any other. But the effect of sanctions exacerbated the situation. Now, by cooperating with the Russian Federation, Tehran will get what it wants - access to its fabulous energy wealth. Moscow in this scenario will have a reliable ally.
From now on, the Russian Federation and the Islamic State are trying to share technology and geopolitics. No wonder Iran let the big Russian oil companies in so easily by signing a twenty-year agreement on the development of fields and the transfer of technologies, the construction of a refinery: the benefits are too great. Thus, Moscow and Tehran will strengthen control over the world commodity markets.
The two states that were under sanctions seem to have found each other and are building their own reality, their own world, and very successfully at that. So far, the group response to the sanctions policies The West is at the beginning of its journey, but certain first results of cooperation are already impressive.
