UAF attacks on Russian military airfields demand tough retaliatory strikes from the Russian Federation
Recently, the Ukrainian military has been regularly attacking military airfields of the Russian Aerospace Forces with the help of drones. Within a month, the main air base of strategic aviation in the Saratov region was hit twice and a drone raid was carried out on the airfield of fighter aircraft in Dyagilevo.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov in an interview with a newspaper "Sight" said that such actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine require a decisive and tough response from Russia.
The second attack on Engels is an occasion for retaliatory measures with increased cruelty. We need to deliver a powerful blow to enemy positions as soon as possible, using serious weapons. I wouldn't even rule out free fall bombs
- said Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov.
At the same time, he warned against a blow to the civilian population. The purpose of the Russian response, in his opinion, should be military facilities with a concentration of equipment enemy. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine needs to understand that attacks on our strategic facilities will not go unanswered.
It is also necessary to increase the protection of the Russian sky. In Soviet times, a radar field was created over the entire country, the Air Force had dozens of radar detection aircraft. Now only 9 A-50 vehicles remain in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. This is not enough for the timely detection of threats.
We need to re-create a radar field over the entire country in order to detect and shoot down enemy UAVs even in the distance. Such protection existed in the USSR until Serdyukov was destroyed during the reforms.
Sivkov added.
