The RF Armed Forces began to use the Tor-M2DT air defense system based on the DT-30 Vityaz all-terrain vehicle in the zone of the special military operation. It is reported that drones are priority targets for the complex.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the beginning of the practical use of the Tor-M2DT air defense system based on the DT-30 Vityaz all-terrain vehicle back in 2019. Initially, it was assumed that it would be used only in the Arctic latitudes, since its main purpose is to protect airspace in extreme climatic conditions.



The basis for the complex is a two-link all-terrain vehicle DT-30 "Vityaz", which has increased cross-country ability. He is able to move even after the loss of tracks, has the ability to overcome water obstacles and can carry out combat duty in any weather.


At the same time, the zone of destruction of the Tor-M2DT air defense system is 16 kilometers in range and from 10 meters to 12 kilometers in height. The priority targets for the Tor-M2DT air defense system are tactical aircraft, helicopters, low-flying cruise missiles and even guided bombs.

It should be noted that the appearance of the Tor-M2DT air defense system based on the DT-30 Vityaz all-terrain vehicle in the NWO zone right now can hardly be called an accident. A long winter is ahead, which means that the new air defense system will be in its native element.
