Individual courage and skill were valued much higher. The soldier who managed to destroy the tank alone was given an incentive in the amount of 1000 rubles.

The ability to restore and repair the combat was highly appreciated. machinery. So, for the repair of a heavy tank it was possible to get a premium from 350 to 800 rubles.

The pilots had the highest payouts for operations requiring high skill and enormous dedication. The crews of the bombing of Berlin received a reward of 2000 rubles.

The publication of materials was dedicated to the centenary of financialeconomic service of the Armed Forces of Russia, which falls on October 22.

It is interesting, but one should add to this the purchasing power of the ruble of that time, otherwise these figures are very abstract. For 100 rubles then you could buy what? Matches, or a kilo of meat, or a bottle of vodka, or a cow for example?
