Armenia: Prime Minister Pashinyan announces resignation

1
In Armenia, the throne “staggered” under Prime Minister Nikolai Pashinyan, who lost the election in the spring of 2018, but eventually got the post as a result of pressure exerted on parliament.

Over the past six months in office, Pashinyan failed to meet the expectations of the Armenians and to achieve any improvements in the economy country, which was the reason for the disappointment of his supporters and the fall in support of the head of government.

Realizing that the authorities were slipping away, Pashinyan announced his resignation on October 17 in order to try to reformat the parliament. According to the Constitution, he will continue to fulfill his duties until the election. At the same time, if the parliament does not elect a new prime minister at two meetings, early elections can be dissolved and announced.

Pashinyan is in a hurry also because in the event of unforeseen developments, he will still be able to solve the problem in his usual way - taking people to the streets. Now he can still do it. But the farther, the less support from the population.

It is sad, but now we can state the fact that nothing has changed in Armenia with the advent of “People’s Leader” Pashinyan and is unlikely to change if he is re-elected Prime Minister.
