200 barrel and Russian military base: Saudis are preparing US response

9
Saudi Arabia will provide Russia with the opportunity to deploy a military base on its territory in the city of Tabuk, will achieve a sharp increase in the price of "black gold" to $ 200 per barrel, and will transfer in settlements for oil to the yuan. Riyadh faces Washington with these and other unexpected consequences, with which they had a complete understanding a few days ago. What is the reason for such a sharp aggravation of relations between yesterday’s allies?

It is all about the alleged monstrous cynicism and cruelty of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was widely known for his criticism of the crown prince of the Kingdom of Mohammed bin Salman. The very one that, with a carnivorous grin, promised Russia that it would disappear from the oil market after 19 years. On October 2, the journalist entered the Saudi embassy in the Turkish capital to get a divorce from his wife, and no one else saw him alive. Apparently, he foresaw the evil, because he kept a record of what was happening on his Apple Watch and asked his bride, who was waiting, to raise the alarm if it didn’t work out after 4 hours. After waiting 11 hours, the girl contacted the police, providing them with the received records:

There is heard his voice and the voices of men speaking Arabic. One can hear him being interrogated, tortured, and then killed.

According to the Turkish police, the Arab diplomats turned out to be real savages who violated the law of hospitality. According to the basic version, after brutal torture, they killed Khashoggu, and then his body was dismembered and taken out of the embassy in an official car with diplomatic numbers.

Such barbarism was excessive even for the cynical West. President Donald Trump has publicly announced his readiness to punish Riyadh by delicately making an exception for the supply of American weapons to the Kingdom. Amnesty International has taken up this case for some time, asking the Saudis for information about the fate of the missing Khashoggi. IMF head Lagarde said she would keep the development of the situation under her control. A well-known British businessman Richard Branson stopped the process of negotiations with Saudi Arabia for investments in the amount of a billion dollars.

The Middle East monarchy instantly took off the mask of decency and prepared a list of retaliatory measures against yesterday’s allies. Among them are the following:

1. A sharp increase in oil prices. In Riyadh, they said:

If even the price of $ 80 per barrel of oil makes President Trump angry, what will he say when the price rises to $ 100, $ 200 or even higher.

2. Refusal to use the dollar in payments for oil with the transition to the yuan.

3. The establishment of friendly relations with Tehran, and the sale of previously purchased American weapons to the Iranians.

4. Providing its territory to host a Russian military base in the Kingdom.

It is significant that the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine sided with the Saudis. The whole world is watching with excitement the development of the conflict between the Arab world and the Western world.

The author paints something too fantastic. I don’t know about Bahrain and Egypt, but the Palestinians are fed by the SA, Iran and the SA have long-standing religious contradictions and they have big contradictions in international politics, and this is serious

You need to understand that this is a banal blackmail ... Serva voiced the most severe conditions, then bargaining will go down

... the author paints a too fantastic picture

There is no fiction. Only sheer pragmatism.
The same religious contradictions, for example, do not prevent the ROC and the Vatican from maintaining dialogue with each other.
And even more so, if friendship with Russia (base) is implied, then all the more it is necessary to put up with Iran.
The Saudis are not fools and understand everything perfectly. To be friends with Russia means, at a minimum, not to be at enmity with its allies. Or at least not fuel the conflict even more.
Well, all the other items listed are generally nowhere simpler. Yes

Not quite the correct wording - several Arab countries have, of course, "graters", but not with the entire Western world, but specifically with the United States, but through them with several vassal countries.
Indeed, this is just blackmail, for their own benefit, so "No need to rush, no."

I agree that all statements and other things are for bargaining. Suspended, it didn’t stop, who, in a sound Western mind, will refuse a deal in a yard? No one, therefore, as Vladimir Ilyich Lenin taught-a step back-two steps forward (in translation for a capsystem) scarecrow-type, what are you crazy there, this is our internal question.

Less emotions and no rush to conclusions. All this graters between their own. Therefore, we (Russia) have nothing to do there. Except that already exists.

... because we (Russia) have nothing to do there so far ...

Just the opposite. You can’t sit back. This split and contradictions must be expanded and exacerbated. When else will such a case turn up?

Interesting ... Just recently I read here how the Saudis are going into a coalition with Israel against Iran ... The flag is in their hands. Better to have an evil but open enemy than such allies. By the way, the Russian Federation should think about this before discussing the possibility of placing some kind of base somewhere ... Although, on the other hand, if the base is made good and correct there, then ... maybe they will regret it later, but it will be too late. The Saudis are certainly rich, but they can only go against the RF Armed Forces and wipe themselves off. Of course, if someone does not have the guts to apply them properly. In here I would definitely take an example from our western "partners".
