An attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to take Krasny Liman could result in a heavy defeat
Currently, in the zone of the Russian special operation on Ukrainian territory, the most fierce battles are being fought in the Liman direction. Expert Yury Podolyaka spoke about this on the evening of September 26 in his video blog.
In his opinion, the fate of the autumn campaign is being decided in this area. At the same time, the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Liman (Krasny Liman), launched at the request of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, to take control of this territory before the end of the referenda on joining Russia, can quickly turn into a heavy defeat for Kyiv.
The APU attacks from all sides, especially from the northwestern and northern sides. For this reason, the enemy, starting from yesterday and today, with a rather thin "gut" entered the rear of the Liman grouping of the RF Armed Forces, took the settlement of Redkodub and tried to strike from the north, but was rebuffed and so far froze in this position. Obviously, the position he has taken is very uncomfortable, and such a position cannot last indefinitely. Here, the concentrated Ukrainian troops must either move forward and achieve victory, or retreat back if the Russian troops, which are also heavily concentrated here, give such an opportunity. The attack on Krasny Liman clearly bogged down, it was not possible to move far forward, now it is necessary to hold the flanks of the elongated "gut" so that the Russian troops do not counterattack and cut off the only road along which they went there
He explained.
Podolyaka suggested that the recently mobilized Russians would also be sent to this direction. He believes that in the coming days, the battle for Krasny Liman should come to a denouement, since the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be able to stay in such an uncomfortable position for a long time. The expert is sure that if the Russian command manages to send enough forces and means there for a counterattack, then the tactical victory lost by the Ukrainian troops will turn into a strategic defeat. This will end with the defeat of the best units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which Zelensky has been preparing for several months, which ensured his success in the Balakliya and Izyum region in the Kharkiv region before that.
The expert also drew attention to the fact that the auxiliary strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Kupyansk and Dvurechnaya also bogged down. All that the enemy could achieve was to create a small foothold on the eastern bank of the Oskol and hold it. The Armed Forces of Ukraine failed to break through into the depths of the defense of the Russian troops in the direction of Svatovo, despite three attempts. The reserves of the RF Armed Forces should also appear here quite quickly, so Zelensky’s plans to take Svatovo in the LPR can be put an end to.
We remind you that Russia launched the NMD in Ukraine on February 24 and, according to the assurances of the leadership of the Russian Federation, it will not stop until the troops complete all the assigned tasks, no matter how long it takes. On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the beginning of partial mobilization in the Russian Federation.
