Washington continues the information war against Russia. At a regular press conference, Donald Trump called Russia's actions in Syria "humanitarian disgrace." The American president accused Moscow, Tehran and Damascus of violence against the civilian population of Eastern Guta.

East Guta is a suburb of Damascus. Before the war, two million people lived here, now about 400 thousand remain. The fighting in the East Guta region began or stopped since 2011. Recently, militants from religious extremist groups Jaish al-Islam and Khayyat Tahrir al-Sham fighting against the troops of President Bashar al-Assad have become entrenched in Eastern Ghut.

In February 2018, Syrian government forces launched a bombardment of Eastern Ghouta. According to Western media reports, several hundred civilians were killed. Tragedy. But the US authorities were quick to blame it on both the Syrian government and Russia and Iran, which support Assad.

It goes without saying that both the Russian Foreign Ministry and the press secretary of President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov have denied allegations of involvement of the Russian side in the humanitarian catastrophe in Eastern Ghout.
