Hyperloop becomes reality: first prototype shown

3
Technology Hyperloop is rapidly gaining momentum. The American company Hyperloop Transportation Technologies presented a capsule assembled in Spain for an ultra-high-speed vacuum train. It consists of composite materials, which with a length of 32 meters allows you to reduce the total weight of the structure to only 5 tons.

The final assembly of the capsule will be carried out in French Toulouse. The company was able to sign a contract for the construction of two sections of the vacuum route with the Chinese government. The first section will be 10 kilometers in length, it is estimated at 2 billion dollars. The second will be five times longer, its cost is not yet known. According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of the joint project will take five years.

Vacuum train technology was widely publicized in 2013 by “PR genius” by Elon Musk. According to the Hyperloop concept, the train will be able to move inside the overhead pipeline at a speed of up to 1220 kilometers. Mask is currently building a test tunnel in the United States. So far, the capsule prototypes she has created have not exceeded the speed of 457 kilometers per hour.

The prospect of a new super-fast mode of transport has led to the emergence of another competing project called Virgin Hyperloop One. With the participation of the famous British billionaire Richard Branson, the venture company has signed an agreement to build a test track in India.

Cool nose for a vacuum engine! It does not create resistance to vacuum at all.

Still, the tube is not a complete vacuum ...

Both of these crooks are going to test outside the United States. Like, for example, special prisons, which use methods of inquiry that are not permitted by US law. The analogy is understandable - in the United States, the criminal legislation for the mass murder of subjects does not apply. The vacuum in the pipe is a barrier to rescue passengers. Depressurization of both the capsule and the pipe instantly kills all passengers. Capsules - due to decompression sickness, pipes - due to instant braking about the air that appears. Further. The tube in which the capsule has stopped must be disassembled very quickly to provide first aid to the injured. For this, it still needs to be quickly found. The question is not clear - how will the rest of the capsules move - the distance between them? How will this affect the "healthy" capsules moving behind the emergency one? Vacuum braking is a very time-consuming thing.
And finally, simple engineering questions - the radius of the tunnel axis. For such speeds, in order not to crush an untrained passenger, kilometers are needed. The track, laid along the surface of the Earth, in the name of fulfilling small loads during movement, will simply affect millions of earthworks. A route of less than a hundred kilometers is meaningless. To prepare for the trip - evacuation of a section of the road, closing up hermetic doors and so on - these are dozens of minutes. An ordinary limousine will travel this distance faster. Making stops after several kilometers is technically impossible.
