Life in France: what infuriated a Siberian girl

A Siberian woman named Lena, who happened to leave for France and live in Grenoble for two years, shared her impressions of this country. Basically, they are far from ideal.


For example, she argues, the French only fall asleep with shutters closed. Even in new homes, there will still be their likeness: blinds or blackout curtains. They will certainly be closed: otherwise the light outside the window and the chatter of grasshoppers interferes with people sleeping. As a result, the Russian woman claims, if at night you need to go somewhere, then you can not see or hear anything. It is difficult to wake up in such conditions: it is dark. It seems like another night.



According to her, the dwellings are very cold. This is especially felt in the center: with thermal insulation in homes is dysfunctional. The batteries of the French are powered by the mains, while people are eager to save. Usually they maintain a temperature of 19 degrees in apartments. For many Russians, this is unusual, and they try to put on warm clothes.

The heroine did not like the publications and the food habits of the French. Firstly, they hardly have breakfast there, confining themselves in the morning to a cup of coffee or cocoa and some sweetness: a croissant or a cake. Therefore, by dinner, they are already hungry. But if a person was invited to dinner, then a real feast begins. First, an aperitif and snacks are served, such as nuts or mini pizza. Then they bring some salads. It seems that the person has already eaten up, but then the time comes for the main dish. But this is not all: cheeses follow, followed by desserts. As a result, Lena complains, she constantly overeats at such parties.

Speaking of Grenoble, the girl notes that he is one of the most criminal cities. In particular, there are many prostitutes who sell their services too brazenly. Often - right next to the city hall. Basically, these are gypsies, black women, citizens of Eastern European countries. It is difficult to catch such a “priestess of love” - if the client is not caught at the place of the “crime”, then there is nothing to punish.

Beggars walk along the streets. In appearance they are normally dressed, quite polite, but they know how to ask in such a way that it is difficult for them to refuse. And if you refuse, you will be tormented by guilt.

Well, now about the most unpleasant. The Russian woman claims that the French bars and clubs have very dirty restrooms. There reigns terrible unsanitary conditions. In addition, there is no clear distinction between men's and women's toilets. Women at least have their own booth, but at the same time you can see men who relieve themselves. And more about hygiene: the girl is "unrealistically enraged" by the fact that on the beaches you can watch men who have not shaved armpits. Instead of swimming trunks, the French put on too “overt” surfing shorts.

Well, and about the girl: according to Lena, the beauty industry in France is expensive and at the same time not enough quality. Although, it would seem, this is France, here beauty salons should be at a high level. But in fact - if you want makeup or hair coloring to do well, you need to pay a lot. Otherwise they’ll do it ugly. In Russia, this is much better.

True, the French waiters pleased the Siberian: they are sweet and welcoming. Especially in restaurants.

But even in politeness, one should know the measure. Lena talks about another annoying custom: in the mountains, people constantly say “Bonjour” to each other. It is necessary to greet every person, even a stranger. Otherwise, you risk being considered impolite. And when you have to say hello thirty times in ten minutes, it "begins to enrage."
