The Be-200 Altair amphibious aircraft is one of the true technical achievements of our country, which you can and should be proud of. Until now, it remains unique as the only such aircraft in the world that is mass-produced. The first flight of the Be-200, meanwhile, took place exactly twenty years ago - September 24, 1998.

The Be-200 aircraft is produced at the Taganrog Aviation Plant named after G.M. Berieva. This is a very unusual and multifunctional machine, capable of taking off both from the ground and from the water. The Be-200 is invaluable in such important matters as putting out large-scale fires, protecting water surfaces, and rescue operations. In addition, the aircraft successfully performs the tasks of transporting passengers and goods to hard-to-reach places.

The aircraft - amphibians - have impressive technical specifications. So, the wing span is 32,78 meters, the length of the aircraft is 32,05 meters, the height is 8,90 meters, and the take-off weight is 37,2 tons. The aircraft is capable of speeds up to 710 km / h. The Be-200 crew consists of two pilots, but can be increased - depending on the practical need. The cabin can accommodate up to 72 people. At one time, the Be-200 crew set 24 world records for climbing without a load and with a commercial load. Despite its dimensions, the Be-200 is a very maneuverable aircraft, and modern equipment allows you to quickly and efficiently manage fire fighting activities.

First, the aircraft developed in Taganrog was produced at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, and ten years ago, in 2008, the aircraft production was transferred to Taganrog. Since 2003, EMERCOM of Russia has been actively using the Be-200 to carry out tasks facing the department. Watching the successful use of the Be-200 in Russia, the specialized services of other states became interested in the plane. Moreover, while the world does not know the Be-200 analogues. So, Altair attracted the attention of the Indonesian authorities, which is understandable - on many islands of Indonesia, an amphibious aircraft can simply become an indispensable air transport vehicle. In addition, the Be-200 became interested in China, Chile and even the United States.

However, until now, outside our country, the Be-200 is operated only in Azerbaijan - at the service of the local department for civil defense and emergency situations. Now the company TANTK seems to have managed to overcome numerous obstacles to the development of export of amphibious aircraft outside the country. These obstacles were associated with the lack of necessary certificates, as well as with the difficulties encountered in transferring the production of the Be-200 from Irkutsk to Taganrog. There can be no doubt about the success of exports, since so far in other countries they have not been able to develop and, moreover, establish the mass production of such aircraft, and the demand for such machines from the departments responsible for coast guard, fire safety, emergency rescue operations are very large.
