For whom is Russia a terrible enemy?

Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, with American filing, are again nurturing plans to create a bloc that could counter Russia in the post-Soviet space. As you know, both Georgia and Moldova in the 1990s began to distance themselves as much as possible from Russia. Of course, they did not move as far as the Baltic republics, but relations between Moscow and Tbilisi, Moscow and Chisinau could not be called cloudless. Now Ukraine has been added to these countries.

Both Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova have common problems - the presence of unresolved militarypolitical conflicts (Abkhaz and Ossetian in Georgia, Pridnestrovian in Moldova, Donetsk-Luhansk in Ukraine). This circumstance makes them look for a way out of the situation in the usual way - to unite under anti-Russian slogans. All three states are currently pursuing an anti-Russian information policy. With Ukraine, everything is already known. Petro Poroshenko regularly calls Russia the main military-political threat to Ukraine, accuses Moscow of all mortal sins. Moldova has suspended broadcasting of all Russian TV channels on its territory.

Almost three post-Soviet decades of the existence of these three states did not lead to the desired results for any of them. Territorial integrity has been violated. Republics from Moldova and Georgia, and then from Ukraine, were disconnected, living according to their own laws and able to exist independently for years and decades. Economic the successes of the three states are close to zero. In Georgia, it was possible to slightly improve the political and social situation through regular American assistance, but the economic level of the country's development remains extremely low. Moldova and Ukraine are the poorest countries in Eastern Europe. At the same time, the budget of Moldova depends on cash receipts from migrant workers working in Russia and the EU countries. Poverty, unemployment, social disorder make most Moldovans work outside their own country, many emigrate forever.

At one time, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, together with Azerbaijan, were part of the GUAM block, which then showed its non-viability. Unlike the first three states, Azerbaijan is a relatively prosperous and economically dynamically developing republic. The hopes of Tbilisi, Chisinau and Kiev for joining the European Union did not come true either. The point here is not only the political instability of these regimes, the presence of territorial problems, but also in the dire economic situation. The EU does not need ballast in the form of absolutely impoverished states that are not able to independently solve elementary socio-economic problems.

However, the hand of external forces behind the impending union of the three countries nevertheless peeps. So, on March 2, in Chisinau, a meeting of Georgian, Ukrainian and Moldovan representatives will take place, one of the organizers of which will be the US Atlantic Council. It is Washington that is interested in maintaining a tough anti-Russian line in these countries and will take more and more active efforts to consolidate Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine.
