The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev announced the withdrawal of the CSTO contingent. According to him, the mission of the peacekeepers has been successfully completed and they will begin to leave the country in the next two days.
The main mission of the CSTO peacekeeping force has been successfully completed. In two days, a phased withdrawal of the CSTO united peacekeeping contingent will begin. The withdrawal process of the contingent will take no more than 10 days

The head of the republic noted that today the situation in Kazakhstan has completely stabilized.
The transfer of the CSTO contingent, which included units from Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, began on January 6. In total, about 2,5 thousand military and about 250 units of various equipment.
The military of the CSTO member states took over the protection of strategic facilities of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, energy supply facilities, government buildings, as well as the territory of the Baikonur cosmodrome.
