Defense Express: Russia trains to destroy airfields in Ukraine

In the Krasnodar Territory of Russia, units of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces conducted a training session to destroy a simulated enemy airfield. It looks like a continuation of a series of measures to build up the capabilities of the troops of the "aggressor country", which are concentrated around Ukraine, writes the Ukrainian edition of Defense Express.

This time, more than 10 Su-25SM3 attack aircraft and about 200 personnel (pilots, technicians and ground service specialists) were involved in the destruction of the aforementioned airfield in the Kuban. The Russians clarified that the pilots were piloting in difficult weather conditions and at different altitudes. At extremely low altitudes, the Su-25SMZ units overcame the air defense system of a potential enemy, after which they launched missiles and fired from aircraft cannons at targets.



Su-25SM3 is an aircraft built according to the classical aerodynamic scheme with two non-afterburning single-circuit turbojet engines (TRD) R-195, each with a thrust of 4300 kg, spaced apart along the sides. The strike weapons are located on the external suspension nodes under the wings. This includes cluster bombs of the RBK-500 SPBE-D type (weight 500 kg), equipped with self-aiming anti-tank warheads capable of penetrating rolled homogeneous armor, 150-160 mm thick.

Note that the RF Armed Forces also periodically launch ICBMs at the Kura training ground in Kamchatka. Therefore, it will simply not be surprising if the Ukrainian media write about Moscow's preparations for a nuclear strike on Kiev.
