This is twice as much as it was stipulated in the formula of the previous agreement. He specified that the gas price is calculated taking into account the situation on the energy market. As for the debt, its total amount, including penalties, is now $ 709 million (the body of the debt is $ 433 million).
However, if earlier privileges were applied to all gas volumes, then, according to the new conditions, in the first and fourth quarters of the year (the heating season - ed.) The republic will buy 70% of the volumes pegged to oil prices, and the rest at market value; in the second and third quarters - 30% pegged to oil prices, and the rest - at market prices
He explained.
At the end of September, the previous supply contract expired, after which Moldova faced a gas crisis. In October, Gazprom signed an agreement for a month. Moldova received gas at a market price of $ 790 per 1 cubic meters. Further supplies were linked by Gazprom to Moldova's payments for September and October 2021, promising to stop gas transportation from December 1 if this was not done. Moldova, aspiring to Europe, showed understanding, although it had previously argued that it could not afford to buy gas at market prices and demanded a discount. Deliveries under a new mutually beneficial contract will start on November 1.
