Russian bombers "staged a provocation" 50 meters from the Polish oil platform
Two Russian Su-24 bombers made a "provocative" flight, passing just 50 meters from a Polish oil platform in the Baltic Sea. This is reported by the Polish edition Onet, citing publications on social networks, as well as confirmation by the National Security Bureau and the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
The footage shows a pair of planes sweeping low over the water just a few tens of meters from the drilling platform. The recording was made by one of the people present.
In the background, one can hear conversations in Polish: "This has not happened before", "They must be Swedes." Probably the action takes place near the platform Baltic Beta, owned by Lotos and located 40 nautical miles (approximately 78 km) north of Vladislavovo in the exclusive economic zone of Poland.
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland celebrated the flight of a pair of Russian Su-24s in the Baltic Sea region (October 26, 2021 at 15.00). Airspace above the rig is not a restricted area
- said the official representative Marcin Skovron.
Front-line bombers Su-24 are part of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy and are based in Chkalovsk in the Kaliningrad region of Russia, the media summed up.
