The first Ukrainian tank "Oplot" delivered to the USA

5

Ordered by the Pentagon in 2018 through Ukrspetsexport, the main battle tank BM Oplot was recently shipped from the State Enterprise Zavod im. Malyshev "to a customer in the USA. The combat vehicle was shipped from the state-owned enterprise on October 10 this year, according to Defense Express.

It is noted that this tank was made a long time ago and recently took part in several shows for the military of other countries. In particular, the MBT was demonstrated at the International Exhibition "Arms and Security-2021" and even attended a military parade in honor of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence.

It is known that the "American" BM "Oplot" received modern equipment and cost the Pentagon budget $ 7 million, while tanks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are purchased for $ 3 million. By the way, the export price of BM "Oplot-T" for Thailand was $ 4,9 million per unit.

It should be added that this is not the first time that the United States has ordered modern models of military equipment in Ukraine (both Soviet, left after the collapse of the USSR, and developed already in the days of independence). It is known that the US military previously purchased T-80UD tanks, Su-27 fighters, 36D6 radars, etc.

    - On August 24, there were only 2 "Oplot" on Khreschatyk. This is all that the plant was able to create. Malyshev for the last 10 years for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Or maybe there was simply no order?
By the way, how is "Armata"?
100 units a day, probably coming off the assembly line?

      There will be no order.
As for this Soviet tank, most likely it will be used as a technique of a potential enemy in various war games, most likely in OPFOR. There, the Americans amassed a fairly impressive collection of Soviet and Russian technology, buying or receiving it from satellites or traitors (such as Ukraine). Naturally, this tank will not be used as a combat unit and, most likely, will serve as a test bench for various types of weapons for obvious reasons.
